Creating the best content for your Facebook Timeline

Here at tCSA, we love the Timeline feature for the Facebook brand pages. It gives a great opportunity for businesses to share new content in multiple ways like telling your brand story by creating milestones.

There are five new ways you can do to create more content for your brand page.

1. Cover photo. The cover photo is located at the top of the page and is visible right when visitors come to your page. This is a great way to promote your brand and personality. Try to create an image that captures visitors into liking your page. It is important to follow the Facebook guidelines when it comes to your cover photo. Not following the guidelines can cause Facebook to suspend your page.

2. Apps: The apps have moved and have more visually appealing displays. You can only see three custom/movable tabs. The first tab leads visitors to the photos published on your Facebook Page and cannot be moved. You can include up to twelve additional apps on your Facebook Page using the new Timeline. What apps should you use? Utilize apps that promotes contests, specials and specialized content that compliments your brand.

3. Milestones: Tell the story of your business. Don’t just share dates. Share stories that build emotional connections between your brand and visitors. You have many options to utilize the milestone option to build your business history, industry history, etc.

4. Pinning: If you have an article, video or post you want to make sure is seen by as many people as possible, you can pin it to the top of your Timeline. Once the content is pinned, that story will remain at the top of your Timeline for seven days rather than just appearing within your chronological Timeline of updates. If you are  a retail store or restaurant, it gives you a great opportunity to promote a special offer or sale or to hype an upcoming conference or event.

5: Highlight: When you publish your content, you have the option to “star” your most important content. Visitors to your Facebook Page have the option to browse through your content using several different viewing options. It expands the content to the full size of the width of the Timeline page. It’s just another opportunity to get your best content in front of the most people.
